Am I eligible for the NDIS?
The NDIS website has a great NDIS eligibitily resource which can be found HERE. If you are aged between 9 and 65, a local area coordinator can help you to understand the NDIS, apply and connect with other government and community supports. If you have a child younger than 9, an early childhood partner can provide supports to children before they apply, and let families know if the NDIS is right for their child.
What is an NDIS local area corrdinator?
Local area coordinators are funded by the NDIS to support people with disability to create and work towards their goals, build capacity to make their own decisions and choices and access the supports they need to live the life they choose. I’m eligible for the NDIS, where to next?
Congratulations! You are now approved to receive NDIS services and have received your plan. Next steps is understanding your plan and how to put it into action. NDIS have put together a very informative resource called "The plan implementation directory" that has been specifically designed to help of NDIS participants and links you to information on the NDIS website. It includes links, tip sheets, Easy Read guides and animations. This information can help you understand, use and manage your plan.
